Junghwa Park [juhng-hwa bahk] is a Korean-born immigrant artist whose work radiates warmth, whimsy, and wonder. Known for her richly imaginative illustrations, Junghwa invites viewers to uncover hidden stories and layered narratives within her art. Her creative vision extends beyond illustration, encompassing a diverse range of crafts that reflect her boundless curiosity and playful spirit.
Junghwa is the recipient of the SCBWI Grand Prize at the 2020 Winter Conference Portfolio Showcase, a testament to her storytelling mastery and distinctive style. She is the author and illustrator of WISH SOUP: A Celebration of Seollal (Little, Brown Company, 2023), and the creator of BUNNYBEE, published in Korea and Taiwan by Who’s Got My Tail. Her illustration credits also include WHILE GRANDPA NAPS by Naomi Danis (Pow!) and 12 DAYS OF KINDNESS by Irene Latham (G.P. Putnam’s Sons).
